movies of late

If you have not watch this, RUN! RUN to the nearest cinema NOW!

I seriously think this is one of the best movie this year. I suppose being a chinese, i will always love to see a kick-ass kung fu movie, and Ip Man just nails it. The fight scenes were awesome. Makes you want to learn some wing chun too. So, if like me, you love this genre, this is a movie you CAN'T miss.

And even if you are not a big fan, i don't think the movie will be a bore cause there are comedy, love and drama elements scattered throughout the film. There are many moments when my bf and I have laughed out annoyingly loud, and to me, a movie that can bring tears to my eyes can't do badly.

Apparently wong kar wai has errr.."plans" to film HIS OWN version of Ip Man, with Tony Leung cast as the lead.

*cough*

I love tony leung, but if i am him, i would stay clear off the movie. No way he will be comparable to donnie yen.

No. He is absolutely charming in Ip Man, and in my opinion, this is THE MOVIE for him. Jet Li, who??? It's Donnie Yen's time to shine!



Of course, it probably is just my own 2 cents, because i did hear a girl commented that the movie was uninteresting and just another action movie, but hey, even if i am wrong, rm10-12 and 1 hr 40 min of you life isn't much to lose

In contrast to the above movie, i would advise you to stay way way WAY CLEARRRRRR of Transporter 3, unless you are a die hard fan of car chase scenes or jason statham.

The acting was absolutely painful to watch, and the chemistry between the male and female lead was non-existent. It was so bad, i was GLAD that i need to go to the loo during their intimate scene.

Seriously.

They absolutely look more like father and daughter than lovers, and i do not have a fetish for incest.

And even though i liked jason statham in The Bank Job, he still lacks that extra something. Now i see why he is The Transporter and daniel craig is 007 with license to kill.

Like the previous movie, the male lead is also noticeably older than the female lead, but the chemistry is slightly better in Yes Man, although only just.

The storyline is rather predictable but if you want complicating plots, go watch Heroes or Lost or something. This is a comedy and comedies are meant to be taken lightly. Don't use your brain. Just go with the flow.

I personally think this movie is very engaging. In one scene i actually wanted to sing-along with him and give my applause.

Jim Carrey has aged, no doubt, but i am a fan. I still love all his exaggerated actions and contorted faces. Will Farell just isn't the same. No one is.

Come on. Say YES to the movie.
